Dear comrades and well-wishers of life. Today is a powerful day in our life. This is because it is what we make out of today that will make a difference in our life tomorrow. Today, we shall be discussing about a metaphysical concept entitled “Dreams come true” in relation to empowerment. In other to fully comprehend this article, we shall approach this discourse both from the inner (spiritual) and outer (physical) part of life.

Dreams comes in various ways/dimensions depending on the context it is been used.  Seeing it from the metaphysical aspect. There is a saying is life, “there’s no smoke without fire” and there’s nothing that happens in life without a reason. Seeing dreams from the empowerment side, it literally portrays how human beings can empower themselves.

During the course of this discourse, we shall be seeing the metaphysical and empowerment concept of dream from the words of Anatole France, who opine “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan but also believe”. The word dream can be ambiguous depending on the context it is being used. Dream generally from the metaphysical perspective is the spiritual feeling, a person gets when he/she is sleeping; from the empowerment perspective, it means a feeling/belief one has for the future, just like Martins LKJ said, “I have a dream that one day, my four little daughters will be judged not by their skin, but by the content of their character.  With this clarification, it’s my belief the road is crystal clear for elaboration of the theme “Dreams come true”. Whenever we sleep, we are practicing how we are going to die, this is because, the bed is like the coffin, when the top of the coffin is closed on us, that is how we put on the comforter on ourselves, and finally when the top of the coffin is covered with sand and the final words dust to dust and ash to ash is proclaimed, that is when our spirit goes to our creator or whoever you believe in. Therefore, whenever you wake up, it’s highly obligatory you give thanks to God the creator of Heaven and earth. This is because you, you  don’t know where your spirit was for the last 4-10hours as the case may be.

Also, the kind of dream you dream can be as a result of the stress you had during the day. From the metaphysical aspect, dream  is more of a premonition of what might be in the future.  According to Greg Anderson “everything is created twice, first mentally and physically”.  This testifies to the saying, before anything happens in life, it must have been conceived first in the mind. Seeing dream from the empowerment perspective Samuel Joseph, said “Nothing at all will be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcomed.  Furthermore, Lao Tzu said, “Watch your thoughts, they become your words, watch your words, they become your habits, watch your habits they become your character, and watch your character, they become your destiny”.

No doubt, we all have passed through many stages in life in order to figure out what we want in life, and these decisions can either make or mar us depending on what we settle for. I have heard from folks who were of the view when they were in Nigeria, China, London, etc, they were doing much better compared to when they immigrated to USA. These folks already had in mind where they want to be  in terms of their finance and professional work before they emigrated to USA. This is because life in USA has its own way of humbling and leading folks in different areas of life. However, being successful is relative. I see success as a balancing factor. Many of these folks (immigrants) don’t know that being successful does not entail finance and good work only, There is more to it. It’s just like in a relationship/ marriage there’s more to couples saying I love you. Regardless of where you are in life now, whether in a complicated relationship, business, life challenges, finance, academic or whatever dreams or feeling you may be experiencing, my advice is always to keep hope alive because dreams do come true if you keep hope alive, work hard and play by the rules. During John Kerry’s electioneering campaign in 2004, President Obama who was then the keynote speaker, had this to say about hope “I’m not talking of blind hope” I mean hope that a young child can get a job when he graduates from college.  Dreams are good tidings which never fade; it all depends on how you plan your life. Be advised failing to prepare is preparing to fail.lts worthy to note that, seeing the big picture of life is more important than the narrow view of the moment.  Therefore, to my immigrant immigrating to a different country especially USA, see USA as a step in the right direction because traveling is a part of education. So for my folks who immigrated to USA and are complaining, hear what Greg Anderson has for you “I believe the dream of what might be is more important than the record of what has been, we must however, be serious about that vision”. Ben Carson a Neurosurgeon in his book entitled “Think big, he enjoined his readership base to always look at the big picture.  Staying in a particular place doesn’t really help us to achieve our dreams and desires in life; doing a particular thing every day might not really be a good idea because there will be no change, therefore you have to keep striving for the best in life. Therefore, in fulfilling your dreams, Albert Einstein said: “We have to do the best we can this is our sacred human responsibility”. Isn’t it true that, Rosa Parks sat so that Martin Luther King could walk. Martin Luther King walked so Obama can run. Obama ran so we can fly. Moral: Keep moving that’s the only way of achieving your dreams in life

There is no gain saying the fact that dreams do come through. Regardless of the illusion, fantasy, dreams, feeling, belief etc you may be having, I want you to know that “Dreams do come true”. In order to achieve your dreams and become fulfilled in life, your desire for success should always outweigh your fear for failure. A good road map to achieving your dream in life was opined by Lin Yugtag “lt is not so much what you believe in, that matter, as the way which you believe and proceed to translate that belief into action”. We all may have dreamt of one thing or the other, dreamt of becoming a relevant figure; the question now is how do we go about it?  According to Florence “Every great work, every big accomplishment has been brought into manifestation through holding on to the vision and often just before the achievement, which comes apparent failure and discouragement.”

Successful people can be said to be men who do simple things in an extraordinary manner. There’s one thing successful people have in common- Perseverance! One of the surest ways you can achieve your dreams is by following your heart as opposed to following the bandwagon that merely do what they do for money. Again, you have to know yourself and what you are passionate about in life.  We do have dreams of becoming great, but sometimes we continue to hold ourselves back, however the best and only way we can motivate ourselves is by motivating ourselves as supposed to reading motivational books, hearing great speakers/speeches or relying on external forces to motivate us. Make no mistake, external motivation is fine, but the author believes they should only be seen as secondary factors, while the primary motivation should be from within. Furthermore, if the whole world is telling you, you can do it and you know you can’t it, you will fail, but if the whole world is telling you  can’t do it and you know you can do it, you will succeed, because he that is in you is stronger and greater than he that is in the world (1John 4:4).  In following your dreams, maybe you must have dreamt about something or received a revelation via your sleep or you may have a feeling which you reasonably believe is something you have to work on in life. However, some factors either internal or external may be on the sideline to cause road bumps. Some of these factors are not limited to fear, doubt, procrastination, and failure.

FEAR: This can be defined as False Evidence Appearing Real.  Before any seed of success can be recorded in the mind, we must eschew fear. With fear in the picture, the victim will lack the courage and confidence to take reasonable risk. No successful person has achieved success and dream desires with fear in his/her heart. One sure way of eschewing fear in our hearts is by exercising Faith and Self-confidence. Fear weakens the body, mind and soul. Fear is the negative factor that prevents us from seeing the light at the end of the tunnel if only we persisted or pushed for an extra hour.

DOUBT: There is a saying, if you are in doubt do not act. Doubting minds never accept/ achieve anything.  A dream, belief, skill, knowledge, etc. might be springing up in your mind, every day, but you keep asking, is this for me? Can I do it? What if I fail? Etc. It’s only by taking charge of immediate goals/task that we can achieve our desired goals.

PROCRASTINATION: This is the brain killer of success. The greatest killer of dreams and success in life is procrastination. The idea of leaving till tomorrow what you can do today is not a mindset of a success driven person or a “dreamer”. Dreams are tiny seeds of success that should be cultivated when you have the feelings and ideas. When a project is left abandoned for a latter day, the passion and idea gradually fades.

FAILURE: Failure can be defined as success turned inside out. Your desire for success should  always outweigh your fear for failure. Failure has prevented many people from reaching their destinations. If you really want to achieve your dreams in life, them never you see failure as an enemy. Failure is a necessary tool for success minded fellows. Dreamers never quit and quitters never win. A typical example of a successful dreamer who didn’t quit was Abraham Lincoln. He failed several times both in business and election, but he was not deterred from achieving his dream of becoming the President of the United States of America, which he later won and he went on to be one of the best American Presidents in history. According to Florence “Every great work, every big accomplishment has been brought into manifestation through holding on to the vision and often just before the achievement which comes apparent failure and discouragement.”

In your journey to acutalize success, distraction and failure  are of the friends we have to carry along as friends, this is becausse they come in varios shapes, form and sizes. Whenever you experience such moments, don’t back up, always remember that great things are not done by  impulse, but by impulse of small things brought together.  It’s a fact in life that no good thing in life comes easy. Life has not promised us a good road; there will surely be bumps along the way,  but it will definitely worth the efforts put in. The whole world sets apart for the man who knows where he’s going. According to Samuel Johnson, “Few things are impossible to diligence and skill, great works are preformed not by strength, but by perseverance”. According to Napoleon Hill in his book “Think and Grow Rich”, he said in one of the chapter  “Whatsoever the mind can conceive believe it can achieve it.” It takes a man of faith to follow his dreams.

In order for a person to achieve success in life, he/she must leave his comfort zone. Dreamers don’t actualize anything sitting at home, you must dare to succeed, you must take that bold step. For the most part, our life and our future will be determined in large part by our dreams and by the struggle to make them realistic. Another way of daring to be great is to try new things, taking opportunities when they become available and exploring by thinking out of the box and looking for ways to bring in some creativity to the world beause the world is in dire need of visonairies.

Finally, as we move our daily lives, it’s advisable we evaluate our lives every hour, day, week, month and year to figure out if we are living our dreams in addition to asking ourselves, are we living the lives we called to live? Rick Warren in his book entitled “Purpose Driven Life” sheds more light on what we are on earth for. According to him, we are on earth for a purpose, and the question now is What’s your purpose on earth? l will strongly adivise by way of conclusion you find purpose on earth while you are on earth.  Its only by following your passion, your dreams and finally what makes you happy that you will be able to make your dreams come through. Be positive, be inspired, and be fruitful!
